can’t talk but can still blog

got the wisdom teeth pulled this morning.  can’t stay awake for long, so this will be a short entry.  the worst part really is the hunger.  can’t eat, so inhaling sesame cereal and easy mac (thanks beth) so that the pills don’t make me throw up.  really strong meds, knock you right out.

i don’t think i’ve ever been put under before for surgery.  it was a little scary beforehand because (1) that whole can’t move, but can still feel thing that sometimes happens and (2) that whole losing control feeling.  but it actually felt really cool.  they put this mask over my face and the air was really sweet and they were like “just breathe.”  then it was like getting drunk, except much faster.  in my head, i was thinking this is like after one drink, two drinks, three drinks…

and then it was like a second later, i was waking up.  i was convinced they hadn’t even started, but they were all done.  apparently, i was really bossy in my groggy state though.  the nurses said i had a type A personality.

okay, i’m going to go for a pudding now, i think…

’tis the season to be jolly…

ice skating at the sculpture garden

after much cajoling, i convinced some people to go ice skating at the national sculpture garden with me (think frog pond, but on the mall rather than in boston common). despite the stupid rule about only letting people on to the ice at the beginning of each hour and the fact that the rink was more circular than oblong and they never changed the direction of the skating thus resulting in a very sore right foot, it was super duper fantastic thanks to brian generously getting like all of us hot chocolate while waiting in line, josh nearly breaking every bone in his body, and the ten christmas songs they kept playing over and over again. someone with more foresight than i took some pictures, here they are for your viewing pleasure:

josh almost died many times because (1) apparently figure skates aren’t his thing and (2) he decided to chase down a rink guard for some reason…
